HANOVER, N.H. - Diana Matheson's first-half goal and second-half assist on an Emily Behncke score lifted the Prinecton women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over league-rival Dartmouth and evened the Orange and Black's record in the Ivy League at 1-1 on Sunday afternoon in Hanover, N.H.
Dartmouth (6-2-0, 1-1-0) led Princeton (3-4-2, 1-1-0) in shots, 14-9, and in corner kick opportunities, 6-1, but Tiger netminder Maren Dale saved all four of the Big Green's shots on goal for her second shutout in as many games and extended her scoreless streak to 206 game minutes.
Matheson's fourth goal of the season came in the 21st minute on a free kick. Fourteen minutes into the second half, she assisted Behncke's sixth goal of the season for her 11th point of the year, just three behind Behncke's 14. Four of Princeton's nine shots were on net, as Dartmouth keeper Amanda Webb recorded two saves.
Sunday's match started a three-match road stretch with a Saturday contest at Brown starting at 7 p.m. Following an Oct. 11 game at Rutgers, the Tigers return home to face Columbia on Oct. 15.
