Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton men's water polo Class of 2006 will be recognized prior to the team's game tonight. The eight members of the class will be making their final game appearance at DeNunzio Pool when the Tigers host Queens in a non-conference game beginning at 7 p.m.
The class will graduate as one of the most successful classes in program history. Entering tonight's game, the group has a record of 83-27 and is 31-6 in league games. The class is six wins away from passing the Class of 2005 and becoming the winningest class in program history. The class has had three 20-win seasons and all were part of last season's school record of 25 wins in a season. They have won an ECAC Championship, two Southern Championships, and an Eastern Championship and qualified for the 2004 NCAA Championships, a feat last accomplished in 1992.
Among the eight players in the class, there is a two-time All-America selection, two all-southern players, two all-eastern players and two all-NCAA tournament selections. Seven of the players have received All-Academic team distinctions from the America Water Polo Coaches Association.
