Men's Water Polo Beats Slippery Rock, Will Face Navy for Southern Title

Annapolis, Md. - John Stover scored four goals to lead the 15th-ranked Princeton men's water polo team to a 10-4 win over Slippery Rock in the semifinal round of the Southern Championships on Saturday afternoon at Navy. Princeton will look to retain the Southern Championship for the third-straight year when the Tigers meet No. 13 Navy in the championship game tomorrow at 2 p.m.
The win moves Princeton to 19-8 on the season, one win shy of another 20-win season. Stover led the way with four goals and is not the all-time leading scorer in Princeton men's water polo history.
The Tigers took control of the game early by pulling ahead 5-0 by halftime. The Tigers added another five goals in the second half to seal the 10-4 win. Zach Beckmann and Brendan Colgan also had multiple-goal games for the Tigers as each snared two goals.
Gant Morgner made five saves through three quarters to post the win in goal.
