Women's Fencing Splits HYP Meet

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Junior Jacqueline Leahy displayed a strong performance in the foil with a 5-1 record on the day, as the women's fencing team split an Ivy meet by topping Yale 18-9 but fell to Harvard 19-8. Princeton's record stands at 8-5 following the split.
Sophomore Erin McGarry was a perfect 3-0 in the epee against Yale, while both Leahy and sophomore Sara Jew-Lim recorded 3-0 records in the foil.
Sophomores Mina Morova and Elan DiMaio also finished with perfect bouts, 3-0, in the sabre,
In the Harvard matchups, junior Caroline Block and Morova each tallied a point as the Tigers fell 7-2 to Harvard in the sabre.
Leahy was the top-finisher in the foil with a 2-1, while both junior Kira Hohensee and sophomore Erin McGarry won two bouts in the epee.
The Tigers will compete in the IFA Championships on Saturday, Feb. 26 in Providence, R.I.
