Leahy Tops All In The Foil

MADISON, N.J. - The women's epee team of sophomore Erin McGarry and junior Kira Hohensee of the women's fencing squad collected a first-place finish at the NCAA Mid-Regionals held at Drew University. The women's fencing team brought home a fifth-place overall finish.
McGarry and Hohensee placed in the top-four spots of the women's epee. McGarry was second, while Hohensee was fourth in the weapon.
Junior Jacqueline Leahy finished atop 28 bouters in the women's foil, while teammate Sara Jew-Lim finished 13th. As a team, the Tigers recorded a seventh-place finish.
In the third weapon, Princeton claimed a seventh-place performance in the sabre. Sophomore Mina Morova was the top-finisher for the Tigers with a fourth-place effort. Sophomore Elan DiMaio and junior Caroline Block finished 15th and 18th overall.
Leahy, Hohensee, McGarry and Morova will all advance to the NCAA Finals and compete in their respectful weapons. The NCAA will take place from March 17-20 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Rice University and the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority will host the round-robin event.
