Women's Basketball Hosts Yale And Brown

PRINCETON, N.J.-- The women's basketball team returns to Jadwin Gym for the first of two weekend homestands. The Tigers will host Yale on Friday, Feb. 18 and then Brown on Saturday, Feb. 19. Gametimes are slated for a 7 p.m. tip and can be heard at goprincetontigers.com.
Princeton Game Notes
Reflection Time - Princeton split its away games in New York this past weekend with a win over Cornell, 78-74, but dropped a 61-57 game to Columbia. The Tigers are now 2-5 in the conference and 10-10 on the season. Freshman Ariel Rogers scored a career-high 12 points in the Columbia game, while junior Becky Brown recorded her sixth 20-point game of the season against Cornell.
Scouting the Bulldogs - Yale is 1-7 in the conference and is 4-17 overall. The Bulldogs fell to Dartmouth 53-39 and Harvard 90-55 last weekend. Erica Davis leads the team with 12.2 ppg and has grabbed 6.7 boards a game. Scouting the Bears - Brown split its past weekend with a win over Harvard 78-63, but fell to Dartmouth 48-63. The team is 6-2 in the conference and 14-7 overall entering this weekend. Sarah Hayes leads the Bears in scoring with 14.6 ppg, while Holly Robertson records 8.5 rpg.
The Sequel - The last time Princeton met these two teams, the Tigers brought home a one-point loss to Brown and a four-point victory over Yale. Junior Becky Brown led the squad that weekend with 19 points and eight rebounds the first night followed by a 16-point and six rebound effort the next night.
1,2 Punch - Freshman Meagan Cowher and junior Becky Brown are the only players at or above 50% as they lead the conference in field goal percentages with .512 and .500, respectively.
Making a Splash - Freshman Ariel Rogers made an immediate impact in the first half of the Columbia contest a week ago. Rogers scored 12 points, including and and-one play, and grabbed five rebounds in a season-high 27 minutes of action.
New Feature - Sophomore Lillie Romeiser has started three of the last four contest at guard for the Tigers. Prior to that Romeiser averaged four minutes on the season.
Longing To Return - Sophomore Casey Lockwood made her season debut at Lafayette. Lockwood played 11 minutes in the matchup and returned to the lineup after recovering from a torn ACL from last season. She scored nine points and grabbed a rebound in her first four minutes of action.
Over Milestone Hill - With a team-high 16 points Becky Brown broke the 1,000-point plateau. As a junior, Brown become the 14th Tiger in program's history to do so.
Feeding The Posts - Junior Katy O'Brien is second in the league with 4.15 assists per game. O'Brien has recorded 83 assists this season. She dished out eight passes in two games this season, Saint Peter's and Lafayette.
20 Times - Junior Becky Brown scored 20 points or more in four games during a five-game stretch this season. The games includes Mount St. Mary's (21 pts), Fairleigh Dickinson (20 pts), Army (23 pts) and Lafayette (24 pts). Brown scored 19 in both the Saint Peter's game and the Brown game, two points shy of six straight.
Free-bees - Sophomore Katy Digovich leads the team with a .804 percentage from the charity stripe. With only eight seconds to play in the last Brown contest, Digovich stepped to the free throw line and calmly made both attempts to tie the ball game at 62.
Lights Out - Junior Katy O'Brien has nailed 43 threes this season and leads the conference with 2.15 treys a game.
Crashing the Boards - Princeton has been out-rebounded in the Ivy games 166-147 but had the advantage of the boards against Penn 47-40 and Cornell 44-40. Furthermore, the Tigers have also been out-scored in second chance points 79-69 in league play.
Gone With The Wind - Junior Katy O'Brien leads all Tigers with 38 steals on the season. Sophomore Elyse Umeda has chipped in 29 steals this season.
Dominate the Paint - Princeton has dominated the paint during its Ivy play by scoring 166 points in the paint. Conference opponents combined for 112 points underneath the rim in seven games.
