Final Home Showcase Of The Season

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Women's basketball sets to host their final home weekend of the 2004-05 season. Princeton will meet Columbia Friday, Feb. 25 and then Cornell, Saturday, Feb. 26. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. both nights and can be heard at goprincetontigers.com.
Scouting the Lions - Columbia is 4-6 in the conference and is 11-12 overall. This past weekend the Lions fell to both Harvard 62-58 and Dartmouth 59-56 at home. Susan Kern is averaging 10 points a game, while Adia Revell has 7.4 rebounds a game for Columbia.
Scouting the Big Red - Cornell record overall is 2-21 and 0-10 in the conference. This past weekend the Big Red dropped games at home to Dartmouth (88-51) and Harvard (70-60). Lindsay Krasna leads the team in scoring (12.0), while Amy Lyon holds down the rebounding (5.5) for Cornell.
The Rematches - The last time Princeton met Columbia, the Tigers held a 55-54 lead over the Lions with 1:18 left in the game, but couldn't hold on for the win. Columbia won 61-57. However, the previous night Princeton handed Cornell a 78-74 loss despite a late surge from the Big Red, where they once trailed by 14. Junior Becky Brown recorded her first double-double of the season in the Cornell win with 20 points and 14 rebounds for the Tigers. Reflection Time - Princeton led 38-30 at one point, but fell to Penn after a 8-0 run lifted the Quakers to a 58-50 win on Tuesday night. Sophomore Casey Lockwood scored a season-high 14 points in the game.
1,2 Combination - Freshman Meagan Cowher and junior Becky Brown are the only players at or above 50% on the team as they lead the squad in field goal percentages with .515 and .510, respectively.
Making a Splash - Freshman Ariel Rogers was named this week's Rookie of the Week by the Ivy League. She scored 13 points on Friday and then tallied a personal-best with 14 points in the win over Brown. Rogers grabbed a combined 12 rebounds in two games and also earned her first start of the season on Saturday.
New Feature - Sophomore Lillie Romeiser has started five of the last seven contests at guard for the Tigers. Prior to that Romeiser averaged four minutes a game on the season.
Homeland Security - After dropping the first three home matches in conference action, Princeton rallied to upend Yale and return a loss to Brown. The Tigers are now 7-4 at home leading into their final two home games of the season, this weekend.
Over Milestone Hill - With a team-high 16 points Becky Brown broke the 1,000-point plateau in the first game against Yale this season. As a junior, Brown become the 14th Tiger in program's history to do so.
Feeding The Posts - Junior Katy O'Brien is second in the league with 4.35 assists per game. O'Brien has dished out 100 assists this season and is five shy of breaking into the Top 10 all-time assist category. She dropped a career-high 10 dimes in the Brown contest.
Early 20s - Junior Becky Brown has scored 20 points or more in seven games this season. The games includes Mount St. Mary's (21 pts), Fairleigh Dickinson (20 pts), Army (23 pts), Lafayette (24 pts), Penn (20), Cornell (20), Yale (20).
Free-bees - Sophomore Katy Digovich has earned 48 attempts to the foul line and leads the team with a .813 percentage from the charity stripe among players with more than 20 opportunities. With only eight seconds to play in the last Brown contest, Digovich stepped to the free throw line and calmly made both attempts to tie the ball game at 62.
Lights Out - Junior Katy O'Brien has nailed 53 threes this season and is currently atop the conference with 2.3 treys a game. O'Brien earned another single-season Top 10 position with her third three-pointer in the Penn game.
Longing To Return - Sophomore Casey Lockwood made her season debut in the Lafayette contest. Since then Lockwood has started four games this season. She scored a season-high 14 points in the Penn game.
