SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Junior Amanda Erickson tallied her first homer of the season to lead the softball team to a 2-1 win over Connecticut in the National Invitational Softball Tournament, Saturday. Princeton improves to 6-3, while the Huskies fall to 2-8 on the season. Junior Erin Snyder tallied the first RBI of the game with a double to right-center field the sent senior Melissa Finley home in the third inning.
Connecticut scored its lone run of the game in the seventh inning with a single to left field by Jessica Quan that advanced Suzy de Bary home. Snyder pitched the entire seven innings and garnered 13 strikeouts, while allowing six hits in the game. Princeton will face Rhode Island at 9 a.m. tomorrow in the final round-robin game.
