Finley capitalized on the play and tallied three bases giving the Tigers a 2-0 advantage.
Snyder hit 2-4 against the Aggies' Lindsay Tognetti and tallied a team-high six putouts in the game. Princeton's first score came on what looked to be a routine groundout from the third baseman to the second baseman in the second inning with two outs until Rachel Kelly of UC Davis dropped the pass making junior Lindsay Motal safe at first, while freshman Beth Dalmut trotted home. Freshman Kristen Schaus earned the win at pitcher with three hits and five strikeouts in five innings. Sophomore Amelia Runyan relieved Schaus in the last two innings and earned three hits and one run. Tognetti recorded the loss with eight hits, three runs and eight strikeouts for UC Davis. In the first game, De La Hoya scored the winning run for the Aggies as Nikki Sheldon hit a double to center field in the sixth inning. De La Hoya advanced after being walked by Snyder. Junior Cristina Cobbs-Adams went 3-4 against UC Davis pitcher Rachel Kelly. Freshman Beth Dalmut was 2-3 at bat and had a game-high nine putouts in the game. Princeton ended the fifth inning with momentum on its side as Finley made a double-play to hold off a rally from UC Davis. Carrie Brueckner hit a fly ball to center field that Finley ran down and caught, saving a double. After making the catch Finley threw out Stacey Benzing at first, who never tagged after the out. Benzing advanced to base with a single to second base that Lauren Bierman made a diving save on to keep it a single. The Tigers had runners in scoring position throughout most of the game but left 11 runners stranded. Snyder (4-2) picked up the loss with three hits, one run and seven strikeouts. Kelly (3-5) gets her third win of the season at pitcher. Princeton continues action in California, as they travel to San Jose to face Colorado State at 10 a.m.
