Women's Water Polo Defeats Occidental and Pomona

Claremont, Calif. - The Princeton women's water polo team picked up a pair of wins Wednesday afternoon by defeating Occidental 9-3 and Pomona 12-3. Elyse Colgan had six goals in the games and Danielle Carlson had five. Princeton completes its Spring Break trip tomorrow against Redlands.
In the opener the Tigers posted a six-goal win over Occidental College. Carlson led the way in the game with three goals, while Jessica Ajoux, Carolina Ardila, Colgan, Jazmin Brown, Samantha Shaughnessy and Courtney Mee all added a goal. Madeline McCarthy made four saves through three quarters to earn the win, while Shannon DeVore made two saves in the final frame.

Princeton followed up with a 12-3 win over Pomona College in the afternoon. Princeton jumped to a 7-0 lead the half and never looked back en route to the win. Colgan led the way with five goals, while Anne-Lise Maag and Carlson both scored a pair. Natalie Kim made four saves in the first half and McCarthy made two in the second half.
