Citrus Sprngs, Fla. - The Princeton men's golf team shot a final round of 316 for a three-round 943 to finish 13th in the 19-team field at the El Diablo Intercollegiate at the El Diablo Golf and Country Club. Creighton Page shot a final round of 70 to climb to 22nd in the final standings, gaining 32 positions in the final rundown.
Page ended up with a 229 for three rounds (81-78-70). That was one stroke better than teammate Jason Gerken. He had a 230 (75-73-82) and finished tied for 26th.
Jesse Dixon shot his third round of 81 on Sunday to finish with a 243, which tied for 69th, while John Sawin (87-79-83) and John Locke (79-83-87) tied for 85th with 249.
David Huestis was entered as an individual and he finished tied for 74th with a 245 (78-81-86). Brent Herlihy also competed individually and was 106th at 260 (84-90-86).
Oklahoma City won the tournament with a three-round 896, 10 strokes better than second place Texas-San Antonio. Ball State, Yale and Rhode Island completed the top five. Princeton finished up with a 943, five strokes behind 12th-place Marquette, and 19 strokes off of a top-10 finish.
Princeton is at the Drew Upton Invitational in two weeks.
