PHILADELPHIA - The Princeton men's lightweight crew won three of four races on the Schuylkill Saturday, but it was Georgetown that came away with the Wood-Hammond Trophy by winning the first varsity race. The win avenges an earlier loss by Georgetown to Princeton.
The Tigers won the second varsity, third varsity and first novice races, but it was Georgetown's time of 6:00.0 that topped both Penn (6:01.3) and Princeton (6:03.4). The Tigers earned a tight win in the second varsity race, but they had convincing routs in the other two races.
Princeton will travel to the Charles River next weekend to compete against Ivy rivals Harvard and Yale.
