Women's Water Polo Claims Southern Championship With 8-3 Win Over Bucknell

Lewisburg, Pa. - The Princeton women's water polo team used a three-goal performance from Jazmin Brown and seven saves by Natalie Kim to defeat Bucknell 8-3 to claim the 2005 Southern Championship. It is Princeton's second consecutive Southern title and the fourth since 1999.
After a scoreless first quarter, 15th-ranked Princeton went ahead with goals in the second quarter to pull off the win. In addition to Brown's goals, Anne-Lise Maag, Courtney Mee, Carolina Ardila, Jessica Ajoux and Maegen Zitren all added a goal.
Kim made seven saves in goal and shut out the Bison until late in the fourth quarter. Once the shutout bid was foiled in the fourth quarter, Madeline McCarthy finished out the game in goal, making three saves.
