Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton baseball team plays its most important games of the season this Friday and Sunday as the Tigers meet Cornell in a home-and-home four-game series. The Big Red enter the weekend a game up in the standings, meaning that Princeton has to win three of the four games between the two to win its 10th consecutive Gehrig Division title.
Fans can follow the action of both of Friday's games live with Gametracker. Additionally, WPRB will broadcast the first game on Friday. Links to the Gametracker and the boracast can be found on the schedule and results page.
Princeton (14-22, 8-8 Ivy) has won just once in its last six games. The span started with a mid-week loss to Monmouth and continued last weekend as Columbia won three of four from the Tigers. Princeton played once during the week, dropping a 10-0 decision to St. John's on Tuesday night.
Cornell (15-18, 9-7 Ivy) put itself in first place last weekend by taking four straight from Penn. Cornell is on 8-2 stretch in Ivy play, winning three of four from Columbia, splitting with Brown and the sweep of Penn. The Big Red played a doubleheader on Tuesday and dropped both ends at Siena.
The race atop the Gehrig Division is pretty clear. Princeton needs three wins to clinch, while Cornell needs two. Both Penn (7-13) and Columbia (5-15) are eliminated. In the Rolfe Division, Harvard, Brown and Yale are still alive. The Crimson (12-4) lead Brown (11-5) by a game, while Yale (9-7) is still alive as well. This weekend's match-ups are Harvard against Dartmouth and Brown against Yale.
