PRINCETON - Senior quarterback Matt Verbit and senior defensive back Brandon Mueller will both attend NFL mini-camps this weekend. Verbit will compete for a spot with the Miami Dolphins, while Mueller is in Indianapolis to compete for a spot with the Colts.
Verbit, the second leading passer all-time at Princeton, will see a familiar face in Miami. The Dolphins' first-year quarterbacks coach is Jason Garrett, who Verbit passed on the Tiger passing list this season. Verbit, who started 24 straight games for Princeton, is the second quarterback in program history to throw for more than 5,000 yards, and he threw his final of 24 career touchdown passes to help lead Princeton to a 17-10 win over Dartmouth in the season finale.
Mueller is a two-time All-Ivy safety who recorded 60 tackles and two sacks during the season. He was especially impressive during pre-draft workouts, which helped earn him the invitation to the Indianapolis mini-camp. Mueller recorded 236 career tackles during a career that included 35 starts, 21 passes defensed and 12 tackles for loss.
