Men's Lightweights Fall In H-Y-P, Will See Rivals Again At Easterns

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The main result on Saturday wasn't the desired one for the Princeton men's lightweight crew, but the Tigers can eye to positives for the future. First, Princeton will get another shot at Harvard and Yale in two weeks at Eastern Sprints, and the long-term future looks good for Princeton after wins from the first novice and third varsity.
The 2005 Goldthwait Cup went to Harvard, which finished in 5:49.0. Yale came in second in 5:51.4, while Princeton followed in 5:59.9. Harvard also claimed a win in the second varsity eight, while Princeton posted strong victories in the third varsity and first novice races.
These three boats will be among a strong field to compete at Eastern Sprints on Sunday, May 15.
