Blooington, Ind. - The 16th- ranked Princeton women's water polo placed fourth at the 2005 Women's Eastern Championship following an 11-4 loss to 14th-ranked Hartwick in the third-place game. The two teams had split their previous two meetings this season. The loss completes the Tigers' season at 27-9. The 27 wins sets a new program record for wins in a season.
Hartwick jumped out to a 4-1 lead after one quarter of play, but two unanswered Princeton goals in the second quarter made it a one-goal game at the half. Hartwick came out of the gates strong in thrd quarter and scored six goals to put the game out of reach. Each team added one in the final quarter for the 11-4 final.
