Ty Ries Named To The 2005 CoSIDA All-Academic Team

Princeton, N.J. - Senior catcher Ty Ries was named to the 2005 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine District 2 Academic All-America Team, as announced by members of CoSIDA this week. Ries is one of five members of the team that are repeat All-District 2 selections.
Ries earned a spot on the team as the lone catcher, with three outfielders, four infielders, two pitchers and a designated hitter.
A politics major, Ries has started in 52 games behind the plate this season. She has scored a career-high 13 runs, drove in 18 runners and tallied one of Princeton's four triples on the year.
To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 or higher cumulative GPA and be a starter or significant reserve. The District II University Division is made up of all Division I colleges and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
