Stanford, Calif. - The Princeton men's golf team shot a final-round 301 to finish 25th at the 2005 NCAA West Regional at Stanford's Golf Course in California. The round was Princeton's second straight at 301 as the Tigers finished with a three-round total of 908. Creighton Page was Princeton's top finisher in the final rundown in a tie for 77th.
The Tigers dropped one position in the final rundown as Illinois State shot a final-round 292 to rally past Princeton. The Tigers finished two strokes behind LSU and four behind Illinois State. Princeton edged Samford and Central Connecticut in the standings. UNLV won the regional.
Page shot +13 for the tournament at 223. He shot a 77 today. Jason Gerken was one stroke back in a tie for 80th at +14 after a 74 on Saturday. Jesse Dixon was another stroke back at +15 and tied for 88th after a 75. Brent Herlihy was 133rd following a round of 78 and was +31. John Sawin was 136th at +33 after a final round 75.
