TUCSON, Ariz. --Momentum from the seniors in the day's earlier game continued, as senior Melissa Finley recorded her first dual home run game of the season, but it wasn't enough to secure a win. Princeton fell 6-3 to Oklahoma St. and ends its season with a 1-2 record in the NCAA Regional and at 36-20 on the season. Finley tallied all three of Princeton's RBI in the game, as her first two at-bats were home runs. In the first inning she blasted a two-out solo home run deep over the batter's eye in center field to give the Tigers to a 1-0 lead. Later in the bottom of the third inning, Finley's two-out shot to the bleachers sitting in left field recorded the third run of the game, as freshman Lauren Bierman had singled to left, two pitches beforehand. Sophomore Stephanie Steel played excellence defense in right field and made two exciting catches in the top of the second inning to hold the Cowgirls scoreless. Steel made the first out with a running catch on a hard shot to right-center field. Her second grab was on the first base foul line for the third out of the same inning. Steel posted five putouts in the game. The Cowgirls' left fielder Megan Carey tied the game with one swing in the top of the sixth, hitting a line drive just over the left field fence after Shanel Scott and Stephanie Nicholson singled. Freshman Kristen Schaus had held OSU to a pair of hits before the inning began.
Jessica Hoppock picked up her second win in the tournament and allowed three runs off four hits in seven innings. Schaus allowed six runs off eight hits in the game, while striking out four batters.
