Princeton, N.J. - The 2005 Princeton Men's Water Polo schedule was recently announced by Princeton head coach Luis Nicolao. The 2004 season was one of the most successful ones in the program history and the Tigers will look to continue that success when they begin the 2005 season in September.
For the second season in a row, the Tigers will play a good number of games at home at DeNunzio Pool. The season begins with the Princeton Invitational the second weekend of September and also includes hosting the ECAC Tournament the final weekend of the month. Additionally, the Tigers will face three league opponents at home, plus play Queen's in a non-league game.
Princeton will head to California during the fall break and face four top-level opponents. The Tigers begin with UC San Diego, then face Cal Baptist, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount and UCLA. The Tigers played both Loyola Marymount and UCLA in last season's NCAA Championship, dropping two close decisions, including an overtime loss to the Bruins.
The season concludes with the Southern Championships at Navy, the Eastern Championships at Harvard and the NCAA Championships at Bucknell.
