MALMO, Sweden - Before they headed back across the Oresund Bridge across to Denmark for their second and final game against the Danish National Squad Wednesday night, the Princeton women's basketball team spent their final day in Malmo exploring the sights in a variety of different ways.
Some hit the Malmo Centralstation and rented bicycles, which they rode around the city.s 11 neighborhoods throughout an afternoon where the temperatures reached nearly 80 degrees. Others visited the Stortorget and Lille Torg, Malmo's two main squares, to do some final shopping or just people-watching. Princeton's academic-athletic fellow for women's basketball, Alison Williams, spent the day in Copenhagen visiting a friend before tonight's game in the Danish capital city.
After a final night in Malmo Wednesday, the team will hit the bus Thursday morning, ably driven by the inimitable Lasso, for a four-hour drive to Goteborg, Sweden's second-biggest city behind Stockholm. The Tigers will spend one day in that city before heading to Norway's capital, Oslo, on Friday.
The Tigers will play two games against the Norwegian national squad in Oslo before returning south on a cruise ship to Denmark, where they will play a Danish club team early next week.
Princeton defeated the Danish nationals 64-55 Tuesday night in its first game behind 16 points and seven rebounds from Meagan Cowher and 11 points from Casey Lockwood.
