Princeton Ranked in Golf Digest Best Colleges For Golf Issue

Princeton, N.J. - Princeton University was recently ranked as one of the best colleges for men's and women's golf in the 2005-06 Golf Digest College Golf Guide. The rankings, which will be in the September issue of the magazine, feature two "Best Colleges for Golf" rankings: an overall measure and an academic-first measure. Princeton ranked first in the women's academic rankings and second in the men's academic rankings. Additionally, Princeton ranked 21st in the women's overall rankings.
Princeton received the title as the "Best College for Golf" in the women's academic rankings, edging three other Ivy League schools in the top-five. Princeton ranked second in the men's version, being only outranked by Emory.

Princeton was ranked 21st overall in the women's balanced rankings and was the highest school from the Northeast on the list. Princeton was also the highest Ivy League school included, edging Yale by three spots. The two were the only northeastern representatives on the list, which was headed by Duke, UCLA, USC, Cal and Stanford.

The Princeton golf season's kick off in September, with the men playing on Sept. 12-13 in the Mid-Pines Intercollegiate, hosted by UNC Greensboro at the Mid Pines Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C., and the women teeing off a week later at the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich.
