WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Princeton sophomore Ivana King won two matches at the William & Mary Tribe Invitational "E" bracket and will play for fifth place on Sunday to conclude action in the tournament.
King defeated Bethany James of Virginia Tech in straight sets in the first round before falling to Katja Kovacic of Texas Tech in a close 6-4, 6-4 match in the second round. She then defeated Penn's Sarah Schiffman 6-3 and 6-4 in the consolation bracket.
Senior Jessica Siebel participated in the "B" flight in the tournament, where she fell to Beatrice Grasu of Richmond in three sets in the first round. Siebel then fell to Marshall's Jeanne Schwartz in the consolation bracket before earning a walkover victory against Brown's Amanda Saiontz.
In doubles, Siebel and King played in the "B" flight, where they fell 8-4 to a team from Maryland in the first round before defeating a team from Marshall in the consolation bracket.
The majority of the Tigers begin play next weekend at Penn's Cissie Leary Invitational.
