October 19, 2006 | Men's Water Polo
PRINCETON -- Sophomore Eric Vreeland was named the Collegiate Water Polo Association's Southern Player of the Week on Tuesday for the second time this season after he scored 11 goals in three games last weekend.
Vreeland led Princeton to a 2-1 weekend with league wins versus Johns Hopkins University (14-12 W) and George Washington University (17-6 W) last week as he scored five goals in both victories. He finished the week with 11 goals, as he added a solo score in a 10-8 loss to the United States Naval Academy, to raise his season goal total to 44. The award marks the second time this season Vreeland earned Player of the Week as he was previously earned the honor on September 12 for scoring 11 goals and adding eight assists in five games at the Princeton Invitational.
