BEALLSVILLE, Md. -- The Princeton men's golf team stands tied for ninth at the Hoya Invitational, hosted by Georgetown at The Members Club at Four Streams, halfway through the two-round tournament.

Rookie Juan Pablo Candela is tied for eighth overall with a three-over 74, one shot ahead of senior Brent Herlihy, whose 75 ties him for 14th. Fellow senior John Sawin is tied for 25th with a 77, while freshman Jake Skinner is tied for 59th with an 82 and sophomore Andrew Maliniak is tied for 62nd with an 85.

William and Mary leads the 12-team tournament with 299 team strokes. The Tribe's Matt Brantingham is the overall leader after his 3-under 68. Princeton is nine shots back with a collective +24.

The tournament, Princeton's last of the fall season, concludes Sunday.
