NCAA Zone Qualifier Highlights Solid Diving Weekend

A pair of platform champions, including NCAA Zone qualifier Stuart Malcolm, highlighted a good weekend of diving for the Orange and Black at the Rutgers Invitational. Princeton's divers, including women's platform champion Peggy Kearns, were also part of both the men's and women's dual-meet wins over Brown.
PLATFORM
Malcolm won the platform competition with 311.30 points, topping Mike Muscari's total of 282.60 points. Malcolm, a top diver in the EISL this season, made the finals of all three events over the weekend. For the women, Kearns' winning total of 224 points gave her the win over teammate Michelle DeMond, who took second with 205.35 points.
3-METER
The Princeton men put two divers in the finals, and Mike Papageorge ended up in sixth place with 270.45 points. Malcolm placed eighth with 231.30 points, while teammates Yarden Fraiman (246.10) and Charlie Razook (237.65) placed fifth and seventh, respectively, in the consolation final. The women placed three in the finals, led by Katie Giarra, who took second with 268.75 points. Kearns followed in third with 252.60 points, and Shelby Rudd placed sixth with 220.45 points. Michelle DeMond took second in the consolation final with 234.25 points, while Charlotte Jones placed sixth (213.65).
1-METER
Giarra picked up a third-place finish in the 1-meter finals with 237.50 points, while Giarra finished just behind her with 232.20 points. Gayle Rudofsky finished seventh with 209.45 points. DeMond and Rudd placed in the top half of the consolation final with 247.10 and 232.00 points, respectively. Malcolm was Princeton's lone male in the final, where he finished fourth with 269.85 points. Papageorge won the consolation final with 282.25 points, while Razook (243.70) and Fraiman (233.30) placed sixth and eighth, respectively.
