ANNAPOLIS, MD. - The Princeton men's lightweight crew suffered a close loss in its season opener Saturday morning, falling by just over a second to Navy in Annapolis. The Tigers will make their home debut next weekend to compete for the Fosburgh Cup against Georgetown.
While it wasn't the debut new head coach Greg Hughes hoped for, his top boat hung tough against a strong Navy crew. The home Midshipmen won by slightly more than a second, coming in at 5:53.99, while Princeton came in at 5:55.17.
Navy swept all four races, including another tight decision in the 2V race.
