Hasbani, DeMond End Seasons With All-America Honors

ATLANTA - Princeton sent two athletes to the 2006 NCAA men's swimming and diving championships. Both competed during Sunday's final session, one in the pool and one of the platform. Both will come home with All-America honors after representing the 2006 EISL team champion.
Together, juniors Meir Hasbani and Kent DeMond pushed Princeton into 21st place at the NCAA championships. DeMond earned 16 team points in two competitions, while Hasbani added 12 in his 200 butterfly.
DeMond, a 2005 All-America as well, competed in the 3-meter competition Saturday to open his NCAA championships. He scored 314.10 points to claim 14th place overall and Honorable Mention All-America honors.
On Sunday, DeMond topped that effort with a sixth-place finish off the platform. He scored 322.10 in the finals to claim All-America and complete a terrific season.
One event prior to DeMond's performance off the platform, Hasbani finished the 200 butterfly in 1:45.74 to place seventh overall for his first All-America honor.
