Paul Christian then plated three more runs in the inning with a home run to right field. The four-run inning made the score 7-0 in favor of Brown through four innings.
Princeton got on the board with its first run in the fifth inning and threatened for more. Freshman Adrian Turnham began the inning with a single to right field and advanced to second when freshman Derek Beckman singled through the right side. After an out, Prince ripped a double down the right field line to score Turnham. After a pop out, senior Zach Wendkos drew a four-pitch walk to load the bases with two outs, but Tews once again got an inning-ending strikeout to get out of any further trouble.
That was Princeton's loast chance to muster anything up as Tews shut them down the rest of the way. Tews allowed one run on seven hits for the win, while Princeton senior Erik Stiller fell to 0-3 after allowing seven runs on nine hits in six innings.

Princeton reclaimed the lead in the fourth inning when four unearned Tiger runs crossed the plate. A walk and a fielder's choic left the Tigers with two on and two outs. Beckman then hit an infield single to fill the bases. That brough up DeGeorge who worked a full count before hitting a grounder that Brown shortstop Robert Papenhouse couldn't handle. The error allowed Doupe and Wendell to score and left Beckman on third. DeGeorge stole second and then him and Beckman scored when Prince hit a grounder to short that Papenhouse again could not handle. All four runs were unearned as Princeton took a 6-2 lead.

He got a sac fly to get the first out, before a fielding error allowed two more Brown runs to score. Gemberling completed the inning with a strikeout and a foul pop up, but Brown had rallied to make the score 7-6 through six full innings.
