Ben Brielmaier made a move from the defensive line to the offensive line prior to his junior season. Upon graduation, he will be making another move - to Cleveland. The Mankato, Minn., native was one of seven players to be signed by the Browns following last weekend's rookie minicamp. Brielmaier became the third Princeton Tiger to sign with an NFL squad this offseason.
Brielmaier, a second-team All-Ivy selection in 2005, started 20 straight games on the offensive line after spending his sophomore season as a starting defensive tackle. He earned the team's 2005 Ronald A. Rogerson award, which is "Awarded annually to that member of the football team whose spirit and love of the game have served as a special inspiration to his fellow players. In memory of Ronald A. Rogerson, head coach from 1985-1988." Brielmaier shared the award with first-team All-Ivy tight end Jon Dekker, who signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the NFL Draft weekend.
Brielmaier was one of the three Ivy League offensive linemen to be invited to the minicamp.
Besides Brielmaier and Dekker, first-team All-America selection Jay McCareins also signed with an NFL team. He spent his first rookie minicamp this past weekend in Arizona.
