Tigers Split Games at ECAC Championship

PROVIDENCE -- The 15th-ranked Princeton men's water polo team split a pair of games today on the opening day of the ECAC Championship at Brown. Princeton defeated Harvard in the first round, but fell to 10th-ranked Navy.
Princeton opened the day with a 14-8 win against Ivy-rival Harvard. Ben Reitz and Mark Zalewski led the offensive attack with three goals each while Chris Kelsch, Reid Joseph and Victor Wakefield each chipped in a pair. Scott Syverson made nine saves as Princeton advanced to the semifinals against Navy.
In the game against Navy, the Tigers played three strong periods before Navy rallied for an 11-9 win in the final quarter. Nicholas Seaver scored three times in the game while Brendan Colgan added two goals. Syverson made seven saves in the loss.
Princeton will face No. 18 Bucknell in the third-place game tomorrow afternoon at 12 noon.
