2007 Baseball Schedule Announced

PRINCETON –- Early season trips to North Carolina and Texas, plus nine home dates later in the season, highlight the 2007 Princeton baseball schedule. The season kicks off with a doubleheader on March 3 at Elon.
Princeton will open the season with its first 14 games away from Clarke Field. Princeton opens play the first weekend of March with a three-game series at Elon. Princeton plays a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.
The following weekend Princeton travels to Houston, Texas to face the Cougars. The game will offer several of the Tigers with their first opportunity to play college ball in their home state. In all, the Princeton roster features eight players from the state of Texas, six of which call Houston home. The Tigers will play three games at Houston before returning to the Northeast.
After a week on campus, the Tigers set out for their Spring Break trip, a week of games in North Carolina and Virginia. The trip starts with three games at UNC Greensboro, and continues with midweek games at Davidson. The Tigers close out he trip with three games at Longwood.
The Tigers open the Northern portion of the schedule on March 28 with it home opener, a midweek game against Rutgers. Princeton remains at home and opens the Ivy League season the following weekend when Rolfe Division members Yale and Brown visit Clarke Field for doubleheaders.
Princeton heads to Dartmouth and Harvard the following weekend for doubleheaders before opening a six-game homestand on April 10. Princeton faces Monmouth in non-conference play before hosting two doubleheaders with Columbia. Princeton closes the span with a game against Seton Hall, before it heads to Penn for four games the following weekend.
Princeton closes out April with a night game at St. John's and its home-and-home series with Cornell. Princeton hosts Cornell in April 27 and heads to Ithaca two days later.
Princeton's final non-conference game comes on May 2 against Rider and hopes to find itself playing in the Ivy League Championship Series the following weekend.
