Addie Micir Named Ivy League Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week
December 17, 2007 | Women's Basketball
PRINCETON -- For scoring double-digit points in each of Princeton's close calls last week against Big East schools Rutgers and Syracuse, Tiger guard/forward Addie Micir has been named the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week for women's basketball.
Micir scored 10 points against Rutgers in Princeton's five-point loss Wednesday before setting a new career high with 18 against Syracuse in a two-point defeat Sunday. A starter the last three games, Micir has started four of Princeton's 12 contests this season and has scored double-digits two other times, netting 12 points apiece against Delaware State and Lehigh last month.
Meagan Cowher is the only other Tiger to claim an Ivy League weekly honor this year, earning co-Player of the Week plaudits Nov. 26.
Micir and the Tigers will take the court again Saturday at Sacred Heart to start a three-game road swing.
