Tigers Improve To 4-1 With 4-3 Victory over St. John's in Men's Tennis

Alex Vuckovic won the clinching doubles match at No. 3 with Peter Capkovic and then lost just three games in a win at No. 6 singles as the Princeton men's tennis team defeated St. John's, 4-3, in a match played at Jadwin Gym Friday afternoon.
Vuckovic and Capkovic went to a tiebreak at No. 3 doubles with Derek Wallensteen and Alex Svetlakov in the clinching match before dominating the tiebreak, 7-3, to earn the doubles point for Princeton (4-1). He then defeated Jordan Talbot 6-2 and 6-1 in singles.
The Tigers also won at Nos. 3 and 5 singles to clinch the match. Both wins came from freshmen, with George Carpeni defeating Svetlakov 6-1 and 6-1 at No. 3 and Charlie Brosens defeating Tom Green by scores of 6-4 and 6-2 in the clinching singles match.
Princeton fell behind in doubles but came to win thanks to the clinching win from Vuckovic and Capkovic and a win at No. 1 from Alex Krueger-Wyman and Sratha Saengswuarn, who won a close 8-6 match over Artem Vlasenko and Green.
The Tigers will host Loyola Marymount Monday afternoon.
