Women's Tennis Wins Sixth Straight, Defeats Rutgers 7-0

PRINCETON -- The 50th-ranked Princeton women's tennis team did not lose an individual set as it improved to 6-2 for the season with a 7-0 win over Rutgers on Wednesday night at Jadwin Gym.
Princeton started out the match by claiming the doubles point with wins at first and third doubles. Sarah Huah and Melissa Saiontz won 8-5 at No. 1 doubles and Kristen Scott and Laura Trimble won at No. 3 doubles to earn the point for Princeton.
Princeton the won four individual matches and Rutgers defaulted at No. 5 and No. 6 to earn the match win for Princeton.
At No. 1 singles, 78th-ranked Melissa Saiontz improved to 6-1 this spring with a 6-4, 7-6 (0) win over Rutgers' Katrina Elder-Bush. It was her sixth-straight win, five of which have come in straight sets.
Darcy Robertson earned another straight-sets win for Princeton at No. 2 as she defeated Katherine Arlak 6-1, 6-1. Blakely Ashley won at No. 3 6-3, 6-0 over Angela Dujsic, and Joanna Roth won at No. 4, not losing a single game in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Katherine Chen.
Princeton, which has won six straight matches, is off for nine days before returning to action on March 17 against No. 21 Duke. That match will take place in San Diego as part of Princeton's Spring Break trip. Princeton will also face San Diego, No. 24 Pepperdine and No. 58 Long Beach State that week.
