Women's Golf Wins Hoya Invitational as Aboff Claims Individual Title

LEESBURG, Va. -- Susannah Aboff led a group of four Tigers that placed in the top nine at the Hoya Invitational Monday, hosted by Georgetown at Raspberry Falls Golf Club in Leesburg, Va. Princeton won the 13-team event by 13 shots over Yale.
Princeton's four scorers finished at 28-over, ahead of Yale, Nova Southeastern, Georgetown, Columbia, Penn, Boston College, St. John's, Siena, Brown, Lehigh, Cleveland State and Sacred Heart.
Aboff carded a 73, lowering her first-round score by four shots from a 77 to finish at +6 overall. She won by one shot over three players. Behind that group in fifth place was Sharla Cloutier, who shot a 75 and 77 to finish at 8-over. Michelle Grilli was in the next group at +9, tying for sixth with a 78 and 75, while Marlowe Boukis was just behind that with a 75 and 79 to finish at +10. Annika Welander, who led after one round with a 73, shot an 82 Monday to finish in a tie for 10th at +11.
The Georgetown event was the last tournament for the Tigers before the Ivy League Championships April 21-22.
