Men's Lightweights Split 1V On Schuylkill, Win Two Of Three Races
April 21, 2007 | Men's Rowing - Lightweight
Once again, the parity in the men's lightweight crew field was shown. Two weeks after defeating Georgetown in a tight competition, Princeton fell to the Hoyas in a three-team regatta. The Tiger 1V did defeat Ivy rival Penn and swept both the 2V and the 1N on a beautiful Saturday morning.
Georgetown won the first varsity competition in a time of 5:35.2, while Princeton finished second in 5:37.4. Both teams finished ahead of the home Quakers, who took third in 5:43.0
Princeton would own the rest of the regatta. The novice eight bounced back from its DQ finish last weekend by winning in 5:47.4, while the second varsity took a big lead en route to a winning time of 5:44.3. Princeton is now 5-2 and will prepare for one of its most exciting weekends of the season. Harvard and Yale will make the trip to Lake Carnegie next weekend for the annual H-Y-P regatta. More information and the racing schedule will be available on GoPrincetonTigers.com during the week.
