Beckmann Named CWPA South Player of the Week

Beckmann was named the CWPA's Southern Player of the Week on Tuesday following a 15-goal performance during the Tigers' 5-0 run at the season-opening Princeton Invitational. Beckmann also added seven assists during the weekend.
The 15th-ranked Tigers started the season 5-0 with wins over Fordham, Gannon, Mercyhurst, Iona and 17th-ranked Santa Clara. Beckmann was responsible for nearly 25% of the Tigers' scoring in the five wins. including five goal performances against both Fordham and Mercyhurst. He also contributed three goals in a win over Gannon.
After scoring 15 goals in the team's first games, Beckmann was held off the scoreboard in Princeton's 6-4 win over Santa Clara, but he made his presence felt, earning three assists in the win. Beckman also had 10 steals over the weekend to lead Princeton and was 1 for 2 in sprints.
Princeton returns to action on Friday with its league-opener at Bucknell at 8 p.m. The Tigers finish the weekend at home on Sunday with MIT, a game that will be streamed live in TigerZone.
