Men's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision At No. 15 Duke
January 29, 2008 | Men's Tennis
Princeton won a pair of tight singles matches against Duke, including a come-from-behind win at No. 3 from junior Alex Krueger-Wyman, but the 15th-ranked Blue Devils earned a 5-2 victory over the No. 73 Tigers in a men's tennis match Tuesday night at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center.
Krueger-Wyman and Reid Carleton were never separated by more than two games throughout their match, which went to a third set after the Princeton junior won the second set in a tiebreak. He then had a service break in the third set to close out a 6-7, 7-6, 7-5 victory.
At No. 6 singles, sophomore Charlie Brosens won his second match in as many days, winning a pair of tiebreaks against Alex Stone to win in straight sets.
In doubles, the Tigers' No. 3 team of Ryan Kim and Ilya Trubov played a close match against Stone and Dylan Arnould, falling 8-6 after the Blue Devils had clinched the doubles points with wins at Nos. 1 and 2.
The Tigers (0-2) play UNC Wilmington early Thursday morning in their final match on their intersession trip to North Carolina. That match will take place in Raleigh, N.C., and begin at 8:30 a.m.
