Groves Earns National Leadership Award

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/13/08) ? Princeton women's basketball freshman Angela Groves was recently honored with the Tavis Smiley Foundation's Youth in Action Award, a national honor.
The award was presented to Groves at the 8th Annual Salute to Youth Leadership Benefit in Los Angeles on Oct. 4.
Groves earned the award as the founder of the Youth Covenant Committee (YCC) in Cleveland, Ohio, and for organizing the YCC Youth Leadership Conference in April 2008. The conference was held for 140 African-American leaders from 40 high schools in the Cleveland area.
The objective of the YCC is to serve the community with activities such as tutoring, voter registration and black history education.
