Women's Basketball Picked Seventh in Preseason Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/21/08) ? The 2008-09 Ivy League women's basketball preseason poll was announced by the league office today, Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Princeton has been selected to finish seventh in the league, earning 46 points, in the poll of the media and women's basketball sports information directors. The Tigers are just six points behind sixth-place pick Penn.
Harvard has been selected to win the league, earning 10 first-place votes and a total of 128 points. Dartmouth accrued four first-place votes and 117 points total for second place, while Cornell captured three first-place votes and 94 points.
Yale is fourth earning 83 points, followed by Columbia with 74 points, and Penn with 52. Brown was picked eighth.
The Tigers went 7-23 last season, and posted a 4-10 record in the league, finishing in a sixth-place tie with Penn.
Princeton opens the season on Friday, Nov. 14 when it travels to Fordham for a 6 p.m. game. The Tigers' home opener is set for Saturday, Nov. 22 with a 6 p.m., tip-off with Stony Brook.
