Men's Water Polo Hosts Four Games This Weekend

The 15th-ranked Princeton men's water polo team returns to DeNunzio Pool this weekend for its first home games in more than a month. The Tigers play four games over three days, beginning on Friday night against 19th-ranked Bucknell and continuing over the weekend against George Washington, Iona and 16th-ranked Navy.
Princeton is currently 10-8 overall and 4-1 in the CWPA Southern Division standings. The Tigers split a pair of league games last weekend and won a non-conference game. The weekend started with a loss at Bucknell, but Princeton rebounded the following day with a win over Johns Hopkins and a non-league win over Mercyhurst.
Senior Brendan Colgan led the Tigers offense last weekend with 10 goals over three games, including five in the win over Mercyhurst. Classmate Alex Edmunds also scored in all three games over the weekend, contributing four markers. Colgan jumped to second on the Tigers in scoring with 23 goals this season and is tied there with junior Mark Zalewski. The pair is three goals behind sophomore Jeff Cole, the team's leading scorer. Colgan also ranks second with 11 assists, six behind junior Eric Vreeland, the team's leader with 18.
Princeton's loss on Friday contributed to knocking the Tigers down three spots to No. 15 in the latest national poll. The Tigers are ranked one spot ahead of Navy, their opponent on Sunday, and four ahead of Bucknell, which re-entered the poll after a 4-1 week that included its win over Princeton.
Princeton hosts Bucknell on Friday night looking to avenge last week's loss. The Bison are 13-11 this season and are 4-3 in league play. Bucknell defeated Princeton, George Washington, Mercyhurst and Johns Hopkins last weekend, before falling to Navy in its final game of the weekend.
Princeton will take on George Washington on Saturday afternoon. The Colonials are 7-17 overall and 1-6 in the league. GW has dropped its last eight contests.
