November 01, 2008 | Men's Soccer
ITHACA, N.Y. (11/1/08) - The Princeton men's soccer team got goals from three different players as it posted a 3-0 shutout over Cornell on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Berman Field. Junior Ben Harms paced the offense with a goal and an assist, a personal best.
Harms put the Tigers on the board at 26:19 with an unassisted marker. He took the ball down along the goal line, to the right of Cornell's goalkeeper Steve Lesser and cut toward the middle slipping a low shot past Lesser.
At 35:35, Harms set up sophomore Brandon Busch to give Princeton a 2-0 lead. Harms again had the ball inside the box but couldn't get the angle instead sending the ball to Busch in the middle, who then fired the ball into the net.
Junior defender Nate Krinsky collected his first collegiate goal and sealed the win for Princeton at 61:02. Sophomore Teddy Schneider headed the ball towards Krinsky who took the shot, which banked off of the far post, and into the goal.
Senior Joe Walter made two saves for Princeton, which also picked up a team save. Lesser stopped three shots for the Big Red.
Princeton led Cornell in shots, 17-13, and Cornell had a 7-6 edge in corner kicks.
Princeton improves to 5-9-1 on the season and 2-2-1 in the Ivy League. Cornell drops to 1-12 overall and 0-5 in the league.
The Tigers will host their final home game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 8, when they host Penn at 1 p.m.
