The Princeton women's hockey team continues its homestand this weekend with league games against St. Lawrence and Clarkson. Princeton split a pair of non-league games last weekend at home.
Last weekend the Tigers split their games for the second straight weekend, falling to Boston University 2-0 on Friday and defeating Vermont 3-1 on Saturday. In Saturday's win, Princeton fell behind 1-0 in the first period, but scored three times in the second to come from behind and win. Freshman Danielle DiCesare scored a goal and added an assist in the win and she now leads all Tigers with four goals scored this year. Classmates Paula Romanchuk and Charissa Stadynk had the other Princeton goals in the win.
Sophomore Sasha Sherry continues to lead the team with nine points on three goals and six assists. She ranks just ahead of Romanchuk's seven and DiCesare's six. Princeton freshmen rank second and third on the team in points and have accounted for 12 of the team's 20 goals scored.
Princeton opens the weekend against fourth-ranked St. Lawrence. The Tigers are 22-17-3 all-time against St. Lawrence, but trail the series 8-10-2 at home. St. Lawrence swept Princeton a season ago and is unbeaten in three (2-0-1) against Princeton. Princeton defeated and tied St. Lawrence the previous season.
The Saints are 7-1-2 overall and a perfect 4-0-0 in league play. The Saints have played seven games in a row limiting their opponents to two goals or less and have won six straight, including a sweep of Dartmouth and Harvard last weekend.
Princeton hosts Clarkson on Saturday. The Tigers are 10-2-1 all-time against Clarkson, but have never lost to the Golden Knights in the regular season or at home and have a 4-0-1 record in the series at home. Last season, Princeton took the season series from Clarkson 3-2, winning both regular season games and one postseason game. All five games were decided by a goal. Clarkson is 4-5-3 overall and 2-1-1 in league play. The Golden Knights took three of four points last weekend, defeating Harvard 2-0 and tying Dartmouth 2-2.
