Women's Basketball Entertains Stony Brook in Home Opener

PRINCETON, N.J. (11/21/08) ? On Saturday, Nov. 22, the Princeton women's basketball team hosts Stony Brook in the 2008-09 home opener at Jadwin Gym at 6 p.m.
Admission to the game is free if you show your football ticket stub at the door, or if you bring a non-perishable food item.
If you can't make it out to Jadwin Gym, there are a number of ways you can follow the game from home. Tiger Zone will provide a live video web cast for registered users, while a free live audio broadcast is available as well as live stats. Links are available on the women's basketball schedule page.
Stony Brook holds a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series. The teams played each other in 2001 and 2002 with the Seawolves winning 77-55 and 75-63, respectively.
Princeton enters the weekend with a 1-1 record. The Tigers opened the season with a 69-57 win over Fordham and dropped an 83-35 game to No. 2/3 Rutgers on Tuesday, Nov. 18. Senior Whitney Downs leads the team in scoring, averaging 11.5 points per game. She has also contributed five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Sophomore Addie Micir is averaging 11.0 points per game, has six rebounds, two assists and is 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Junior Cheryl Stevens leads the team on the glass, averaging 7.0 boards per game. She also has a team-best three blocks.
Stony Brook is 0-3 on the season and coming off of a 97-58 loss at Penn State on Wednesday. Pacing the Seawolves is Kirsten Jeter with 8.7 points per game, and 4.3 rebounds per game. She also has a team-best six steals. Sarah Kazadi leds the team on the glass, averaging 4.7 per game, and is chipping in 7.7 points per game. She leads the team in blocks with six and teammate Misha Horsey is the team's assist leader, dishing out 10.
