Women's Basketball Hosts FDU on Tuesday

Princeton, N.J. (11/25/08) - The Princeton women's basketball team hosts Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. The Tigers are seeking their third win of the season as they enter the game with a 2-1 record.
The game will be webstreamed via Tiger Zone for registered users and live stats will be available free of charge.
Princeton owns an 11-4 record in the all-time series with Fairleigh Dickinson. Although the squads have not met since the 2005-06 season, the Tigers bring a four-game win streak over the Knights to Tuesday's game. When playing at Jadwin Gym, Princeton is 6-2 against FDU.
Princeton enters tonight's game with a 2-1 record, having defeating Stony Brook by a 47-point margin on Saturday, Nov. 22. The Tigers' lone loss of the season came at the hands of No. 2 Rutgers exactly one week ago tonight. Sophomore Addie Micir has been the team's leading scorer in two games this season and is averaging 14 points per game. She has nailed nine three-point baskets and is shooting 91.7 percent from the free throw line, missing just one in 12 tries. Senior Whitney Downs is averaging 9.7 points per game and leads the team in steals and assists with seven each. Freshman Lauren Edwards is chipping in nine points per game. Junior Cheryl Stevens and freshman Devona Allgood are Princeton's big guns under the basket. Stevens leads the team with 6.3 rebounds per game, and Allgood is chipping in 5.7 per game. Stevens is also the team leader in blocks with five.
Fairleigh Dickinson brings a 1-2 record to Jadwin Gym. The Knights most recently lost a one-point game in overtime to Rider on Friday, Nov. 21. Christy Altamirano paces the FDU offense, averaing 14.3 points per game and chipping in 7.3 rebounds per game. She has picked up a team-best seven steals as well as four blocks. Jordan Sykes has dished out a team-best 13 assists and has added 15 points, while Erica McKeithan has team-high seven blocks and has tallied 19 points.
