Swim Teams Host Columbia Women, Navy Men In Full Home Weekend
February 08, 2008 | Men's Swimming and Diving
The Princeton women's swimming and diving team will honor its Class of 2008 while trying to complete a perfect Ivy League season Friday night, and the Tiger men will look to avenge a 165-135 loss to Navy last season when the teams meet Saturday afternoon. Both dual meets will be held in the friendly confines of DeNunzio Pool this weekend, and the schedule of events for both can be found in this story.
WOMEN
Princeton is building on a dominant effort at last weekend's HYP showdown, when the Tigers swept every swimming event and placed second in both diving competitions. The Tigers are 7-0, 6-0 in the Ivy League, and will look to run its win streak to 16 straight with a win over a talented Columbia squad (8-1, 4-1). Sophomores Alicia Aemisegger and Courtney Kilkuts have already clinched spots in the NCAA championships, while freshman Meredith Monroe and junior Justina DiFazio are among a handful of competitors enjoying brilliant seasons.
Columbia, led by Princeton standout Diana Caskey '85, has won seven straight meets, including a recent win over Brown. Megan Brown and Abby Reilly finished 1-2 in the 1000 free when the Columbia topped the Bears 194-106.

The Tigers defeated Yale but fell to No. 23 Harvard, which will host the 2008 EISL championships March 6-8. Princeton is led by juniors Doug Lennox, Will Schaffer and Robert Griest, although its overall depth has been the consistent force in its last two EISL championship victories.
Navy is currently 5-1
overall and will compete Friday at Columbia University. Sophomore Adam
Meyer recently set a school record in the 200-yard butterfly with a
time of 1:50.02, which he set during a successful Midshipmen weekend at
the Navy Invitational.
