Meagan Cowher Caps Career with Third Straight First-Team All-Ivy Honor

PRINCETON -- When the All-Ivy League women's basketball teams came out Wednesday, Meagan Cowher added one more historical note to an accomplished career that ended Tuesday night.
In recognition for a season that saw Cowher score a Princeton-record 532 points, the Ivy League's coaches honored Cowher with a place on the first-team All-Ivy for the third straight year. Cowher is the only Princeton player ever to earn three first-team all-league honors. Those distinctions earned in 2006, 2007 and 2008 are complemented by a 2005 Ivy League Rookie of the Year award, the only such honor the program has received in its history.
Cowher reached double digits in scoring in 28 of 30 games played this season while also recording five double-doubles. She won her second straight Ivy League scoring title and the third in a row for Princeton's program by averaging 17.7 points both in Ivy contests, on which the scoring title is based, and on the season overall.
Over the course of the season, Cowher also made a run at Princeton's career scoring record, held by Sandi Bittler '90 at 1,683 points. Cowher finished her career with 1,671.
In addition to leading the Tigers in scoring, Cowher also led Princeton in rebounding (6.9 rpg, 207 overall), minutes played (1,016), field goal percentage (.467), field goals (217, a Princeton record), free throws (98) and assists (56).
