Tigers Split Pair; Top Pomona, Fall at LBSU

The 20th-ranked Princeton women's water polo team split a pair of games on Tuesday, falling 9-6 at 14th-ranked Long Beach State and winning 12-7 at Pomona-Pitzer. Senior Natalie Kim made 23 combined saves between the two games and five Tigers scored in both games.
In the day's first game, the Tigers fell victim to late rally by Long Beach State that saw the 49ers turn a 5-4 fourth quarter deficit into a win. Neither team scored in the first quarter before both teams scored twice in the second and third quarters. Princeton went a head 5-4 with five minutes left in the final quarter on a goal from sophomore Phoebe Champion, but could not contain LBSU late as the 49ers scored three straight goals to take a 7-5 lead. Sophomore Lauren Sabb scored her second goal to get Princeton back within one, but the 49ers added to more goals for the 9-6 final..

Princeton was back in the pool in the evening at Pomona-Pitzer and jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 12-7 win. Sophomore Lauren Brunner continued her strong Spring Break trip with three goals in the win and she now has 21 for the season. Sabb also scored in the win and now leads the team with 30 goals this season.
